It’s kind of a dusty mess but I love it.
I had to haul it up a flight of rickety stairs from the one and only antique store in my neck of the woods.
It weighs almost as much as I do. (Please let me have that dream.)
Can you imagine if this was on your desk at work? A lot of elbow room is required. The carriage is over two feet long.
My favorite key? The ‘Floating Shift’ for no particular reason. I think it’s the font that won me over.
Word on the street (and by street, I mean internet) is there’s only one operating typewriter factory left in the world.
Part of me wants to keep it but I think I’m going to need a bigger typing table.
Love it! I love the Floating Shift key too. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I do hope you keep it! Lugging it up those rickety stairs was practically like giving birth to it, so it was meant to be yours!:-P
ReplyDeleteLove that Floating Shift key, too... thanks for sharing it with us.:-)
xoxo
Green keys. Oh. My. Word!!
ReplyDeleteThis must date back to a time before worker safety laws. I can only imagine the injuries to nearby coworkers when a typist hit the carriage return unexpectedly.
ReplyDeleteGood grief, why in the world would you need a carriage that wide?? Gave me a visual of the wide old greenbar tractor-feed computer paper - LOL! Oh, to go with the green keys......?
ReplyDeleteOkay, there is a thought. That wide paper does turn up at the GW and you could feed it through and write the next great American novel without having to change paper or number the pages. Seems like a "green" thing to do.
Never mind. I blame it all on this Bloody Mary I'm drinking in honor of my last day of vacation.
Green keys!!!??? I am green with envy! That is one sweet corona. Surely it must weigh more than you from the looks of that carriage!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! I love 'er. What a fabulous find with those awesome keys and a carriage that could knock more than your socks off.
ReplyDeleteWorth the haul it up rickety stairs...no doubt!
ReplyDeleteKeep or sell, keep or sell.....it does have lots going for it tho.
carriage size,
wonderful green keys,
that lovely font on floating shift,
great display piece.
I would have trouble parting with it.
Sh! Can you hear it? Remember the sound of typewriters. I loved learning to type on those. Played with them at my grandmas and have one from the thrift myself. I love your gorgeous green key beauty. They were made like tanks and I am so glad you didn't hurt yourself getting it out of the antique store. Smiles...Renee
ReplyDeleteHi, I love your fabulous find...Connie
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that green typewriter!
ReplyDeleteThose are the cutest green keys ever! That would be hard to part with! :)

ReplyDeleteThat carriage is something else! Love that font on the Floating Shift key.
