Vintage Christmas by the square foot

You may recall that last year’s hunt for vintage Christmas turned up little finds like these,

this,

and these.

And silly me, I assumed this year’s finds might be more of the same.

Imagine my surprise when 'they' turned out to be this.

He's six feet tall and made from printed paper applied to plywood pieces -- I was told he once was a holiday street decoration in Los Angeles.  Found at a local yard sale.

Hope you're having a wonderful, long weekend!

  22. A few years ago I redid this fellow, a sleigh and two reindeer for our village. They were donated to the village after being found in a barn. It took me months but they turned out awesome and I am thrilled to see them used every year to decorate our village park!

  23. Hi! Just found this SAME EXACT Santa a couple weeks ago at one of my favorite antique stores here in Spokane WA! Was sooooo excited...he's missing a boot so my husband is going to fix that for me! He looked wonderful next to one of my Christmas trees!

  24. I have the same one too, bought it a few years ago at an antique emporium. I did see a whole set with reindeer and sleigh on someone's roof, I wonder where they came from, maybe Sears? anyone have more info on this..
