What started
out as a perky update about my antique mall space has somehow morphed
into an odd little tribute to one of the items currently for sale there.
Please
pardon me while I reminisce about an old friend who was faithful, sturdy and
strong, not to mention pretty nice to look at.
We worked
well together and even had some banner years.
As they
will do, this good friend always supported my projects.
Lots
and lots of projects.
And now
it’s time for this friend to relax, take it easy and perhaps simply sit in someone's garden.
I heart funky vintage furniture.
Do you offer delivery? It's really not that far. And think of the country you'd see! Pretty much all of it....
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely piece!
ReplyDeleteThose spindles are each a work of art! What a beautiful piece to display and or SIT on and rock away an afternoon!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing other gals booths! Always looking for ideas for mine!
ReplyDeleteNice chippy bench. Love the post about your Texas trip!
Warmly,
deb
It is such a beautiful piece with such history! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteHey if you take this to Barbara I am headed that way with you!
ReplyDeleteI bet it won't be long before that retired friend has a new job with someone else! Very great piece!
ReplyDeleteAw what a sweet bench and glad it's going to find a happy new home. Hard to let go I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI think I spy a table cloth that matches some napkins I have! That's always fun.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how there are some things we thought we'd never part with and then... we do? ♥
I love the bench! SO pretty and unique! It would be wonderful out in a garden! :) I spy so many pretties in your booth!! :) Happy Tuesday! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteGood friends are hard to find, and I can see how this one has been there for you, for a long time. It must have been so hard to say goodbye, but perhaps there's a new best friend waiting for you at the next flea market or garage sale, or even curbside!
ReplyDeleteI'm tearing up just thinking about her. She's done a good job for you.
ReplyDeleteSounds like she's been a true friend for ages, now it's time to let someone else enjoy her vintage beauty. Maybe you can visit?
ReplyDeleteShe is sweet! I've never seen one quite like it.
ReplyDeleteI think it is very generous of you to let her retire after all the hard work she has done. I hope she finds a happy "Old Chairs Home"!
ReplyDeleteBTW, clearly a trip to Montecello is in order. Your booth looks amazing!!
How lovely! Her new owner will be so pleased -- 'wish it was me!
ReplyDeleteOur business is odd. We buy things hoping that they will sell, but yet are sad when they do. Now you'll just have to "treasure-hunt" to replace the pretty bench! Yay!!!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Funny post:) Lucky for you that she's retired in your yard. Sounds like she deserves some leisure:)
ReplyDeleteAmy,
ReplyDeleteI knew there was a reason I was drawn to you and your crafts! Yes, I grew up in Parma....not too many people like to admit that....lol
I remember that pretty bench in your ebay ads! Awww..nice to hear that she served you well. She is a beauty!
