What I was doing when I should have been at the grocery store shopping for Thanksgiving dinner

While taking some etsy photos in order to further delay my trip to the grocery store on the day before Thanksgiving, I realized this poor soul was just too rough around the edges to be sold in my etsy shop.

I mentally reviewed the description I would have to write which would say something like 'dirty, stained, blotchy and missing one eye' and realized whoever is searching the internet for that is probably looking for something else altogether.

I selflessly set aside my yam shopping and rolled up my sleeves for an emergency makeover.

Glue bath. Hold still. Close good eye.

Bedhead with glitter.

Waiting area for glittered parts to dry so un-glittered parts can be glittered. Attempts to disguise unattractive aluminum pie pan with vintage ornament camouflage not effective.

Admires setting sun and snow-covered hills while contemplating upcoming post about a very vintage Christmas giveaway.

But first, this.

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  7. You crazy gal waiting until the day before to go grocery shopping for a holiday. Maybe you didn't have a choice. Maybe evil little fairy beasties kept you hostage and forced you to peruse the black friday ads for hours. Maybe a random moose wandered into your backyard and you had to take photos, nope you would've shared those. Maybe you had to "gasp" work.

Maybe you should just have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

You do realize that we expect photos of that deer finished, right?

  11. That is one amazing makeover. I love glitter. When I'm still finding it here and there in July, then it's a bit annoying, but this time of year just cries out for sparkles.
    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Amy!

  18. Oh, the things that we do to avoid grocery shopping, cleaning and cooking!

Your little reindeer is charming in his new holiday suit. Actually, he was cute before...but I know what you mean about Etsy descriptions. Some of my most charming things have so many minor (though loveable) flaws - that it's just not worth listing them.

    Happy Thanksgiving to you!
