Oh yes -- my tiny space in the antique mall. The space is actually a display case that I've renovated to be more like a (very) little room.
'Renovated' might be overstating it a bit. It's more along the lines of 'had some shelves removed.' Too much HGTV again.
Located right there between the seller with antique glass and the person who makes things out of scrabble tiles.
I have a famous neighbor across the aisle from my little space, Tracey from Notes From A Cottage Industry. It really is a small world.
The mall is Camas Antiques in Camas, WA, very near Portland, OR, in case you're ever in the area and want to see things for yourself. I strongly encourage it. It's for your own good, of course.
With that enormous renovation behind me, Christmas sewing has now moved to the top of my to-do list. All of my vintage Christmas tablecloths that are destined to become pillows, banners and table runners have been unpacked, sorted and inspected.
And since the weather here today is acting like November, I am much more inspired to dream in red & green for the next few months.

Normally by this time of year, lots of these would be rolling off the Doily Factory assembly line but I'm running a little behind.
Fortunately it's still only August so I'm good.
Wow...we are almost neighbors! How fun. It is raining here in Portland...it does feel a bit Atumnish, and of course this is moving day for my daughter! Drats! I love "Camas Antiques". I blogged about it last year along with Tracey's booth. Your little space looks wonderful! We will have to meet up for lunch one of these days...Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love the pillows and all of the beautiful things for Christmas! Beautiful! Makes me want to get busy! ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little space you have! And you've made the most of your sweet display.

HI! I just found you on Cottage Cozy's blog...I love all your vintage things and colors! ♥
ReplyDeleteNow following!! Can't wait to see more of your stuff.
I'm lovin' your booth and can't wait to see the reds and greens you create!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your space!! It's not near big enough. I'd love to see it!!!How much do you think it would cost for a cab from Chicago to the antique mall? I can be there in about 35 hours - I think...
ReplyDeleteYea!! Now I can visit your space at Camas. I was just there on Sat. but the crowd made it hard to really see everything. Your little space looks darling :>)

I love your space - someday I am going to visit your area. It sometimes seems as if everyone lives there!

Soo creative to make the display case look like a little room. Very eye-catching display. It turned out great. Camas is only a short drive from Portland but not on any of my regular routes. Now I have a good excuse to make a special trip!
ReplyDeleteI'm really loving your teensy space! It's such a visual relief from the other 2, and FUN. What a creative use of space! XOX
ReplyDeleteI knew it! I knew it! I knew it! Your space looks so Absolutely Fabulous! (Am I showing my age by referencing that show?) How could shoppers possible resist you! There's no way! You will soon be the star of the mall!
ReplyDeleteYour space looks great it sure does give me some inspiration, I would only be able to handle a space about that size, you sure created magic! oxox, Diane
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a charming space filled with treasures. You created a beautiful backdrop for your wonderful creations and fabulous finds. Good luck and enjoy your new venture. Can't wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteLove it Amy! That chair is awesome and a perfect compliment to all your beautiful creations. How fun!
ReplyDeletep.s. What are the little blue and red/pink barbell looking things in the bottom left corner?
p.p.s. I love the first picture - love the perspective and the awesome thread colors in the background.
p.p.p.s. Have I sent you my rug fabric yet? No? What's the hold up?
My eye would immediately be drawn to your little space, because it's got everything I love in it! It's alive and full of personality, and I just know that you'll do well there!
ReplyDeleteWell that was quite clever, removing those shelves. I bet you start seeing some copy cats soon. Looking at what you've been sewing gets me so inspired!
ReplyDeleteWow, I've never read your blog before, and I'm so excited that I found it today! You have a knack for display....I'm also an antique dealer, so it interests me very much. Also, my husband finally relinquished any claims to our dining room and I converted it into a craft/antique pricing room. It's divine!
ReplyDeleteAmy, this post gave me an idea: I should have a contest to get folks' input on how to set up a postcard display! Paper objects are hard to make look inviting -- and unfortunately, so easy to, uh, pocket....:( But your space, even so little, is just adorable! Absolutely charming!
ReplyDeleteYes please...I'll take one of each! WOW! Your linens are beautiful!
