This summer of yard sale hoarding has produced some interesting results.
Dozens of them.
Setting things aside here and there for months adds up eventually.
My Santa cups runneth over.
In an effort to address this accumulation, I've signed up to sell at one more vintage event this year.
It was that or get a storage unit.
Or move away.
Now I’m already having a little separation anxiety about the milk glass.
And in a fit of purging after attending an especially scary & jam-packed estate sale, I’ve decided to sort through my personal vintage Christmas stash to see what I can live without.
I mean if I can live without.
I would love to take on a scary & jam-packed estate sale! Unfortunately, here in south FL, the term "estate sale" is used more and more for crappy garage sales. Is this true in other parts of the US also? It's kind of discouraging.
ReplyDeleteWow, you scared me for a minute there. I thought you'd signed up for another event other than Plucky Maiden......I was about to get my competitive feathers ruffled! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see you and your hoards at Plucky Maidens!!

Did you need my address for the aprons? Lovely hoarding it is...I share in your need to purge but there has to be a limit! Aprons really....Smiles...Renee
ReplyDeleteOh, I want to hear about the scary estate sale. You accumulated some great collections, selling is always tough, maybe we should buy what we don't like!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Lots of Lots of Lots is a good thing! You know I will be headed your direction at Plucky....
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - so much goodness! We can't keep everything but some things are SO hard to part with!
ReplyDeleteI have the same separation anxiety affliction. I don't think it ever gets easier. If you do decide to part ways, those Santa mugs, milk glass and aprons are going to be a real eye catcher at your next sale, they look so darn good together.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish I could come shop!!
As someone who has been on this path, let me say: that's an awfully big 'if.'
ReplyDeleteif you CAN part with some christmas stuff... I can't wait to see what it is, because i'll probably take some stuff off your hands.

Gosh that milk glass really looks fantastic all together like that! But I totally understand. I've got a big bin full of Christmas goodness that I've been buying all summer that needs to be sold on Ebay. I only have a tiny bit of guilt about entertaining thoughts of accidentally forgetting it's there.
ReplyDeletelove your milk glass!!

Hello Amy,
ReplyDeleteWow, I love all of your vintage finds. I can’t believe all of the wonderful items that you have collected. The aprons are my favorite pick. The aprons are on the list of “Can’t Pass Them Up” items. Score!
Smiles, Paula
Love your collections! A jam-packed estate sale is not scary- it's nirvana!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the milk glass. Haven't thought much of it in the past, but am suddenly head over heels in love with it. Thanks for the link to Plucky too. You're the best!

No wonder you had to move to Hood River! There was no room in the place in White Salmon! When can we come pick? Frank & Mike
ReplyDeleteOooh! Such good finds! I love the aprons and the hotpads-- so cute. Those chairs made out of soda cans crack me up-- I had a set of those for my Barbies back in the 70's!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jill
I forgot to say that tin can chairs are among my favorite things on the planet. You know why, of course. Because they fall under the category of "Objects Made By People With Way Too Much Time On Their Hands".

Oh, gosh, those rocking chairs...our neighbor man made a lot of those out of cans when I was a little girl! Wonder if my mom still has one! You sure hit on some cool stuff!
ReplyDeleteWow...Your stash looks similar to mine!!! Hope you have a great sale!!!
