Warning. This one's a rambler.

Thanksgiving sure shot by like a rocket.
I only know it actually happened because I ran the dishwasher four times in 24 hours.

(I am definitely giving thanks for dishwashers.)
That and because it was the one and only day in recent history my dining room table was heaped with food and the good china rather than the Mt. Vintage Christmas of things going to /coming back from the Plucky Maidens Junkfest where I was vendor.

Despite the deafening silence here, I have most definitely not packed up and moved off the internet.

My desk looks like someone has been pulling a vintage all-nighter.

In the days since Thanksgiving, I’ve been firmly glued to my chair in front of the computer, filling my etsy shop with vintage Christmas.

I only leave the house to go out and look for more.

What can I say? Tis the season.

After setting up my vendor space the night before the Plucky Maidens show, I went back to my hotel room and assembled a 6-1/2’ vintage aluminum Christmas tree and the next morning I carried it through the hotel lobby and across the property to the building where I was selling.

Can’t stop me.

It didn’t sell.  I am now really good at dismantling it in seconds flat.

On the bright side, I listed it online yesterday and less than 24 hours later, it’s now winging its way to its forever home in Peoria.

All's well that ends well.

  1. I can just hear you and Laurie now if I lived closer..."Oh great, here she comes again!" as I try desperately to decide which piece from your booths I could fit in my car. I see my Santa made the show. It all looks so amazing I hope you had a great time. The felt skirt in your shop is amazing just saw one yesterday at the flea marked $55 firm! Smiles...Renee

  2. Your booth setup for the show looks amazing. I hope that you made lots of cash. Smiles, Paula

  3. It was so good to see you! Glad to know the tree found a home.
The plate on your dining table is one of my favs!

  4. I love it when you ramble. Especially love the festive shot of your booth with Santa and the tree...total, total eye candy!

  5. It all looks fabulous! Hope you were successful in spite of the tree not selling there. Are you stringing that garland yourself or is that the display?

  6. I love vintage Christmas things...look for them everywhere I go! I've been lucky to find a few neat things along the way! Wish I was close to your house...I'd have a ball 'helping' you! heehee! ♥

  7. Rats! I want an aluminum tree like we had when I was a kid - and hated! How could I have disliked something so beautiful?

  8. I get a little weepy when I hear an aluminum tree has found its forever home. I have one, so it's not jealousy. Just so darn happy for the tree and its owner. I'm going to go get a vintage Christmas hanky now.

  9. Oooh, look at all those Christmas goodies! Your space looks amazing, as does your Etsy shop.
Just think - you have twenty five days before you have to clear the dining room table again!

  10. Ooh! I hope the person who bought the tree noticed that gorgeous blue glass garland because they would be stunning together!

  11. Loving the turkey in the first pic and the aluminum tree...my great aunt used to have one and I remember the coziness in her home every Christmas...also, love your creative and fun writing style!!!

  12. I love that round bird cage, it's such an interesting shape

  13. I have a aluminum tree that I found at a garage sale. It is great to hang my heavy Hallmark ornaments. Great post.

  14. Everyone is talking about your Etsy shop and I want to see too, but I can't find it. I am new to reading blogs and new to Etsy. I can find items and buy and I have saved shops where I know they have the type of stuff I like, just so I can browse....but I can't find your shop through Etsy, nor a link on you blog. I must be blind.......help please.

  15. So glad to hear your tree has a happy new home in Peoria, I'm sure it will miss you. Love that big turkey platter:-)

  16. HI Sandra,
I don't have a way to contact you other than through these comments but you can click any of the little square photos near the top right-hand side of this blog and that will take you to my etsy shop. :-)

  17. I would have SNAPPED it up in a heartbeat Amy....hahahahaha....I have a pic of you carrying it through the lobby....**wink**....!!

Off to visit your Etsy store....!!!!!
